Itinerary
Day 1
As you exit the airport in Cape Town, you will be greeted with a smile by your Uprise guide who will take you to a nearby hotel. Welcome to Cape Town, South Africa’s ‘Mother City’ and her iconic Table Mountain. Depending on your arrival time, you may have a short cultural and historical orientation session to prepare you for the days ahead. (Dinner only is included on this day.)

Day 2
This morning you will visit the iconic Table Mountain! You will take the aerial cableway to the top, where you will see amazing views and explore the flat top covered with special plants called Cape fynbos.
Keep an eye out for cute dassies (hyraxes) too! Next, you will take a city tour in the City Bowl and Atlantic Seaboard. Your guide will show you cool landmarks like Company Gardens, a beautiful park in the city that’s perfect for a stroll. You will also visit Bo-Kaap, a colorful neighborhood with a rich history and vibrant culture. You will also stop by the Castle of Good Hope, a historic fort that will tells you about South Africa’s past and offers a glimpse into its rich heritage.
After the tour, you are free to explore the city on your own for the rest of the day

Day 3
Today you will embark on a scenic journey along the Cape Peninsula, starting from the vibrant neighborhood of Camps Bay and culminating at Cape Point. Along the way, you will take in views of the Atlantic Ocean’s crashing waves to your right and the majestic 12 Apostles mountain range to your left. This coastal drive is one of the world’s most magnificent, winding its way towards the rugged outcrop that marks Africa’s southwestern tip. During the journey, you will have the opportunity to spot penguins at Boulders Beach, a unique and fascinating experience. You will also catch a glimpse of the historic Cape of Good Hope, an iconic landmark that symbolizes the southernmost point of Africa. The route passes through charming coastal towns, each with its own distinct character and charm.

Day 4
Today, you will visit the Cape Winelands and the town of Hermanus. Upon arrival, you will visit Franschhoek, a wine region known for its beautiful wine valleys. You will take in the views of the surrounding mountains and vineyards. Next, you will drive along the scenic Franschhoek Pass and make your way to the coastal town of Hermanus. Here, you will enjoy a “Be My Guest” experience, where you will have the opportunity to interact with locals and meet Stefan, a local business owner. Stefan will treat you to a traditional South African braai (barbecue), featuring local delicacies such as boerewors, pap, and melktert. Over a glass of his homemade wine, he will share stories of life in Hermanus, a town known for whale watching.
After a wonderful afternoon in Hermanus, you will return to Cape Town. (Breakfast only is included on this day. Your guide can suggest options for lunch and dinner.)

Day 5
This morning, you will embark on a journey to Robben Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where anti-apartheid activists, including Nelson Mandela, were imprisoned. You will arrive at the
Nelson Mandela Gateway in Cape Town, board the Robben Island ferry, and take a scenic 30-minute ride to the island. Upon arrival, you will meet your tour guide and visit the Robben Island Museum, exploring the limestone quarry and prison buildings, including Mandela’s former cell, to learn about the island’s history and the struggles of its former prisoners. Finally you will return to your comfortable accommodation to rest and relax for the rest of the day. (Breakfast only is included on this day.)

Day 6
This morning you will depart your hotel and take a flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel in the heart of Sandton. After settling down, you will explore the nearby restaurants and also have the chance to do some shopping. (Breakfast only is included on this day.)

Day 7
Today you will visit Soweto, a historically significant township in Johannesburg. You will explore the township’s rich history and culture through visits to key landmarks. These include the Constitutional Hill, which played a significant role in South Africa’s transition to democracy, the Mandela House Museum, the former home of Nelson Mandela, and the Regina Mundi Church, a church that was a hub of anti-apartheid activity. Through these visits, you will gain insight into Soweto’s past and its role in shaping South Africa’s history. You will also have the chance to visit the Apartheid Museum, for a thought-provoking look at the history of apartheid in South Africa. You will also get to see Nelson Mandela’s house, giving you a glimpse into the life of one of South Africa’s most iconic figures. These experiences will really help you understand the country’s complex past and its ongoing journey towards healing and reconciliation. (Breakfast and lunch only are included on this day.)

Day 8
This morning, you will go on a full-day game drive adventure to Pilanesberg National Park, located about 2 hours from Johannesburg. The park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including the Big Five Animals: leopard, lion, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. Your day will begin with a morning drive safari, accompanied by a guide who will help you spot these animals in their natural habitat. (Dinner only is included on this day.)

Day 9
This morning you will visit Downtown Johannesburg, specifically the vibrant Maboneng Precinct, a hub for art, culture, and creativity. You will have the opportunity to admire the area’s colorful street murals, explore its diverse art galleries, and experience the unique atmosphere of this trendy neighborhood. You will also visit the Carlton Centre, one of Africa’s tallest buildings, and take in the stunning views of the city from its observation deck. After lunch, you will have some free time to do some last-minute shopping or browse the local markets for souvenirs. This evening, you will experience the city’s nightlife, exploring its various bars, restaurants, and clubs, and getting a feel for the city’s energetic and lively atmosphere. This morning you will head to Johannesburg International Airport where you will say goodbye to your Uprise guide and fly off with new memories to last a lifetime! (Breakfast only is included on this day.)
