Itinerary
Itinerary
After breakfast this morning you will catch a ferry to Goree Island. This small island situated off the coast of Dakar is known for its prominent role in the colonial history of Senegal, in addition to its role in the Transatlantic slave trade. It is home to the House of Slaves, where slaves were last housed before their forced journey to the Americas. This afternoon we will return to Dakar to visit the Grand Mosque. Completed in 1964, it is one of the most important religious buildings in Senegal. Finally we will tour the Palace of the Republic and visit a local beach before retiring for the day.
